I sometimes eat shrimp with the skeleton left on but have experienced the thin shell laying flat on my throat and very difficult to dislodge and swallow. I feel much safer with them shelled.

How do you guys feel about pomegranate seeds? Eat the red part, obviously, but the hard part in the middle? And which part doomed Persephone? And who the hell decides to eat pomegranate, and only eats 6+/- seeds (according to some versions of the myth)!?

Modern pomegranates have seeds that are much less astringent than they used to be, so it’s much easier to just eat the whole aril. Sometimes you still get a smaller one in the store that has slightly more stringent seeds and pith and its a decision whether to eat the whole arils or try to spit out the seeds.

I have a can of boiled peanuts in my pantry that I picked up at Cracker Barrel a while back. Aren’t boiled peanuts unripe anyway?

> Southerners: what do you do with boiled peanuts? They’re not fully dried when cooked, so does that mean that the shell is softer? I must confess that I heard about these things not too long ago.

Boiled peanuts are one of the most vile, slimy and disgusting things produced by humans. They should be avoided like the plague.
