My understanding is that if you have sensors in wheels for TPMS the car can show you pressure but not all do. If the car uses “indirect TPMS” it just compares the rotational speed of the wheels and when one is faster than its friends it must be low as it has lost circumference.
Advantage of indirect is no sensors needed in wheels, but downside is that the car cannot tell you pressure of any tire. Also in the unlikely event that all your tires lose pressure equally, the car will not alert you.
My new 2023 Highlander does, but it is the Limited and I believe the XLE has it but the LE does not. I may be completely wrong about that but I think in some models it is related to the trim package you order.
