I’m not saying I didn’t give out that information freely, but I can’t imagine keeping track of things like this that other people say about themselves, and talking about it years later. Do you go back and study my thousands of posts on the regular? Weird. Interesting that you think my being born in East Africa (Kenya, specifically), and also attending high school there as a sophomore, does not give me any particular tie to that country or continent. Is this also how you feel about people who were born in the U.S. to immigrant parents who then brought them back to their home country? This sounds like far-right “anchor babies” talk. Or is there some kind of double standard, where such people are lifelong Americans but I don’t get to be even a smidge Kenyan? BTW, my parents neglected to file a consular report of birth for me (oops!) and so the only birth certificate I have is from the government of Kenya. When I was younger I still managed to get passports with this, somehow, but after 9/11 they tightened up their standards and I had to travel hundreds of miles to a special State Dept. center to plead my case, complete with affidavits from my mother (my father had long since died; had this also been the case for my mom, it might have been even more of a clusterfuck). This gave me a taste of how perverse inflexible bureaucracy could be. The sticking point is that when I filled out the forms, I noted that both my mother and father were U.S. citizens. Therefore they insisted on proof of both parents’ identity and citizenship, which I did not have for my dad. I pointed out that if my mom had been impregnated by a random Kenyan, there would be no problem with the proof I had already provided, since it only takes one parent who is a U.S. citizen (in combination with my subsequently living in the U.S. for all those years) to qualify. They acknowledged this was true, but since I had submitted both parents’ names, “the rules are the rules”. Madness. Fortunately they were ultimately able to track down a file containing my father’s passport, but for a couple hours there it felt very Kafkaesque. (Might I suggest “For a couple hours there it felt very Kafkaesque” for a future meme? Or did I ruin it by being the one to suggest it?) ---

Whatever floats your boat. As I’ve pointed out before (or maybe that was on the Giraffe Board Pit thread, with some of the same usual suspects), you can gaslight until you’re blue in the face, but it will never work because all the dubiousness in the world won’t change the fact that I have the proof in my possession. Which makes you just another person who is [“wrong on the Internet”](https://xkcd.com/386/), a dime a dozen. No different from the guy on MovieChat who insists that since I entered an argument he was having with someone else (about the movie _The Invisible Man_), I must be a sock of the other person he was arguing with. He couldn’t accept that maybe more than one person in the universe might disagree with him. I can’t prove what he’s saying is false, so shrug emoji. ---

Just keep clinging to that ACT score. The punchline is, whether you took it or not, whether the score is real or not, that you care so much about it, to the point of posting “proof” online for random strangers on the internet, diminishes you. That’s the point you keep on missing. ---

Not missing a thing. If I just demonstrated my modesty and restraint, _then_ you guys would be falling all over yourselves with love and admiration for me. That about the long and short of it? 🙄 The reality is that whatever I’m “failing” at, whatever is “pathetic” or “diminishes” me, is whatever you can latch on to at any given moment. Because I have committed the greatest sin in the eyes of [the “elect”](https://twitter.com/JohnHMcWhorter/status/1296422241853493248?s=20): not only failing to fall in line with the current vogue of “anti-racist discourse”, but adamantly challenging it (blasphemy!) and refusing to be cowed by an online pile-on of outrage in response. That cannot be tolerated: such apostates must be made an example of at all cost. No quarter! And BTW, I don’t talk about my ACT score unless other people bring it up, in which case I respond. You won’t find posts where I just interject “hey, guess what I scored on the ACT!” You think you will, go look for them. Be my guest, knock yourself out. ---

Most people will at least have the presence of mind to insist they’re not racist, whatever they actually believe, and the rest of us are left to read between the lines to get at what’s been left unsaid. I’ve been talking up my poker results, so it’s only fair to face the music when they don’t go so well. Tonight I came in second to last (and with our ranking system, every rung on the ladder matters). **Manson** , the most aggressive preflop raiser in our group (AINEC), had been picking on my blind all night and had built up a big stack. He did it to me for the umpteenth time, I looked down at ace king suited and reraised all in, he thought a minute and called with pocket tens and they held up. GG me. Fortunately I had built up enough of a lead on the field that I am still #1 in the rankings, for now. But that could change Friday, as we are playing five hyper turbo tournaments in quick succession, which could give hot players like **Manson** a chance to surge into the lead. Or I could have a good night and extend my dominance. Tune in and find out which it will be!
