As pointed before - even in this thread - it was not just about that Danish misinformer, even on that he is trying to stupidly gaslight others, there was already a request to Slacker to come clean on how is that he fell for the old denialist (and Republican) point that the scientists in the 70s predicted that the climate would cool, and about how is it that he also fell elsewhere for the “they changed the term global warming to climate change” idiocy, some of his sources for sure mentioned Frank Luntz’s little tricks and whoever told him the tale they told it to him backwards to come as if even the scientists had fallen for it.
So the deflection is not just for “he who must not be named” 
, it remains one part of the examples of how he does fall for the malarkey that a few right wing sources he encounters tell him or what some of his admired “intellectual” dark web guys say.

Ignorance is one thing; stubbornly refusing to acknowledge it is another. His schtick isn’t just his low-grade racism, which is certainly repulsive in its own right; it’s that when his sources and the credibility of his arguments are challenged, he comes back with “Hey, you really should take 2 hours out of your day and listen to this horse shit Joe Rogan*/Sam Harris/Whoever podcast. You’ll see what I mean.”
*Not criticizing Rogan per se - I consider him an entertainer, not a news gatherer or forum host.
I don’t even subscribe to Joe Rogan‘s podcast. :rolleyes: I have listened to an episode or two when Sam Harris was on, but it was pretty annoying because Rogan is a dumbass and Sam clearly knows it but tries to be nice .
Joe Rogan is one of the best of the so called Intellectual Dark Web guys in the sense that he also does not take any shit from climate change deniers.
Of course, if the Slacker did not get his silly denier talking points from other IDW guys, then as noted, he got them from even more deranged right wing sources.
I don’t deny global warming, GIGO. :rolleyes: To the contrary: I look forward impatiently to the warmer winters it will bring us here in northern Minnesota. Although that doesn’t mean I am pro-fossil fuels. I would love to see us us ban coal like we did leaded gasoline, and massively ramp up solar, wind, geothermal, and wave power. (Not a fan of hydroelectric though, as it ruins rivers.) But that’s mainly because of other kinds of air pollution, and a desire to starve Putin, Maduro, and Arab governments of petrodollars.

Just like those conservatives who start advocating for gay rights only after their child comes out. Until then they can’t seem to muster up the empathy for someone else’s child.
Anyone that reads the past postings will see that I referred to what guys like the one that must not be named 
as lukewarmers, and pointed that indeed, he does not deny global warming, he just misleads others on what to do about the issue.
That is, guys that do accept global warming but do fall for the next stupid talking points from the right, those that do make the issue sound not as worrisome. They get to be called denier talking points still, because the result is the same for the Republicans in government: as in not finding a need to make big changes.

I understand that you might not be able to parse subtleties in English, but “ban coal” is pretty simple and straightforward. “Massively ramp up wind, solar, geothermal, and wave power” is maybe a little trickier for you to understand, but I promise you: it means “big change”.
The point there was not about the Slacker, but about the Republicans that do think that a guy like he who must not be named is the Beesknees, he also does talk big, but in a way that ends up being a fig leaf.
And the Slacker is still trying to avoid what was mentioned, how is it that while he does claim to understand what is needed that he still falls for stupid talking points from the misinformers of the right.
