Do we have a thread for SlackerInc yet? Maybe we should

More lies.

Sorry, no. I’m not going to give you clicks or views on social media beyond this board. I’m satisfied that nobody follows you on twitter even though your account is clearly endeavoring to be something people follow, and that’s enough for me. Your twitter feed is as unexceptional as your skill at playing poker and your contributions to French literature, or the understanding thereof.

Nope, I mainly use Twitter to be a “reply guy” and to put up images to post here. I do get attention for my replies on others’ tweets; if I cared much about what was on my own original timeline I wouldn’t post those images apropos of nothing, and I would do a lot more tweeting and retweeting in general. Click the “replies” section of my profile and compare that volume to my sparse quantity of original tweets and see for yourself.

As for poker, I’m still #1 in the Doper rankings three months in. If my skill is so unexceptional, what are you saying about the other 13 members of the Memeing Tillions poker club? :stuck_out_tongue:

Imagine thinking this is impressive or makes you sound smart!

To quote Clint Eastwood (Unforgiven), “Yeah.”

You want actual posts? Okay.

I would not take the risk of vacationing in a predominantly Muslim country

I have perhaps not said, but will say now FTR, that I also welcome immigrants from virtually any other part of the world, as long as they are not Muslim.

Due to the board switchover, some of your posts have been lost in the mists of time, but these two are still easily linkable.

Jesus… You know, still having only been on the forum for a year or so, I sometimes wonder if maybe I’ve misjudged Slack. Like, maybe my perceptions are being colored too much by quotes taken out of context in this thread, the selection and trimming of which may be unfairly influenced by years-long interactions between posters that I know nothing about. Maybe I’m just joining in with the bullies to pick on a weakling because it’s fun, without stopping to think about whether the criticism is really deserved.

But holy fuck…

Not seeing “he hates them the way that Jews hate Hitler”.

I have donated money to Ex-Muslims of North America. Do you think Jews in the 1930s would have seen Nazis as people to support in seeing the light of reason? Maybe some, but in most cases–the “Jews” you refer to here collectively–I think not. This has nothing to do with race or any other immutable characteristic. Whether we’re talking about Arabs, Persians, South Asians, or African Americans, I welcome anyone turning away from this dark ideology. I repeat: it’s an ideology, not a race or other immutable characteristic!

As for vacationing in predominantly Muslim countries, maybe some of you have done that. But I suspect you were not young women backpacking alone. And i even more strongly suspect you weren’t an openly gay couple, or openly atheist. We all know you can’t go through the Muslim world freely expressing those identities. And if you cannot, why would I consider it a good place to visit?

BTW, ASL: I’m no weakling! I would have been gone long ago in the face of these attacks if I were.

Your equating Muslims with Nazis minimalizes both the harm done by the Nazis and the harm done by the most radical Muslims, whose primary victims are… other Muslims. But, hey, if they’re all Nazis to you…

I mean, when you look at something like, say, the Camp Speicher Massacre, do you see parallels to the holocaust, or do you just see Nazis killings Nazis?

All this time I didn’t realize you were a young gay woman.

Only when he showers.

Let’s not loose focus on the part where SlackWit equates Muslims with Nazis.

I never did any such thing! :persevere: Just the opposite, in fact. I was replying to someone who made that comparison, and showing that I do not see them as similar. Read it again, this time for comprehension.

In all fairness, it wasn’t due to lack of trying, but more due to lack of sufficient ability and opportunity.

Sad that you would think people would only care about whether their own identities make them vulnerable, as opposed to having solidarity with others who would be oppressed there. (Though it’s true that I’m an atheist/freethinkier and don’t like the idea of having to suppress the truth about my identity, regardless of where I go.)

When someone spells “lose” that way, they forfeit any right to make “-wit” cracks about anyone else. I mean, there are spelling mistakes and there are spelling mistakes. That’s one of the ones that immediately brands someone as a moron.

I guess that could be the French spelling.

I didn’t even have to look more than one post above for that gem.

 Obvious typo is obvious. Whereas “loose” in place of “lose” is the clear mark of a feeble mind. We all know this, whether we want to admit it or not.
