Doesn’t math apply here? If E=A & A=R, then E=R? Thus, If: spider=Arachnida & Arachnida=mites, then spider=mite. Ah ha! ---

Yes, math applies, but it’s set theory, not algebra. Spider is a subset of Arachnida. Mites are a subset of Arachnida. However, you cannot infer that subset Spider = subset Mites. ---
