Homemade roasted pumpkin seeds seem to have thinner and crispier shells–I’ll eat them whole. (Chewed first.) Commercial ones, I don’t. Part of the enjoyment of pumpkin seed eating for me is all the fussing with the shell and my tongue, etc., though. 🙂 ---

I eat the whole punkin seed, by the bagful. That being said, the pumpkin seeds you buy in stores are not seeds from jack-o-lantern pumpkins, them come from a squash specially grown for the seeds. Jack-o-lantern seeds are edible, but they are tougher. ---

Whole. Plus, I eat sunflower seeds whole and probably about 25% of the peanuts I eat are with shells. ---

i eat pumpkin, sunflower seeds in the shell. they don’t tear up my gut, i’m an experienced masticator. ---

Whole! I toss them in a little bit of olive oil and salt, then toast in a nonstick pan over medium high. ---

Whatever the case, I am still sad I cannot get the jack o’ lantern type pumpkin seeds unroasted in stores near me. ---
