I voted that I tend to avoid it, but we don’t have sex super regularly to begin with so it’s not really like sex sex sex sex gap sex sex sex sex gap or anything. I wish we had sex more often, but with him in residency he’s too tired a lot of the time. I do have a funny story from years ago. I had started dating a guy, and after a few dates we decided to have an overnight date in a hotel… our first time having sex together. He surprised me by picking me up in a stretch limo (I was dressed up because I knew he was taking me somewhere fancy for dinner) and after dinner we ended up in a room at the Ritz Carlton, with a bottle of champagne in the room and everything. We started getting involved, and were pretty heavy into it when my period started, out of the blue, a few days early. And it started with a bang. It took us a little while to notice, but when we did it looked like someone had been murdered on the sheets. We kept going, though. He even went down on me, bless his soul. We called down to the front desk and had them bring up some tampons afterward, since I was unprepared. I often wonder what the maids thought when they cleaned the room. I felt really bad. We left a big tip. It was quite a way to have your first sex with a new partner though, I must say. We kept dating for a while after that, so I obviously didn’t scare him away, though we both knew it was primarily a sexual not an emotional relationship. (I called it off with him a few months later when I met Dan, though, because what I felt for Dan, right from day one, was so intense. I’m now married to Dan.) ---

Female here. The only thing my boyfriend and I avoid is him giving me oral, which I don’t blame him for. I wouldn’t want to taste that either. ---

I’m a male, and my lovers have all said they didn’t want sex during that time so I respected that. I don’t think I would have problem with it, if it were OK by her. ---

I’m a guy, in my relationships it usually works out that if she wants oral then she leaves her tampon in at the start. We treat that as a separate session. After, if either of us wanted intercourse, she would go to the bathroom to prepare, or a blowjob for me, depending. As a guy, I think showing a slight bit of, humor, acceptance, enthusiasm, when the issue first comes up in a relationship helps you out in the long run. :o ---

I don’t really care that much one way or the other. If we did it during that time it was usually in the shower, which is always a fun change. But I’m not a very sexual person so I’ve always welcomed the excuse and he was always cool with it. ---

I no longer menstruate and I am not even quite 50 yet! \ but I also (at least at this time) have nobody to have sex with. In answer to the question however, when I did bleed and had a partner, I wasn’t particularly horny during that time of the month, but as long as I wasn’t crampy and totally bloated I didn’t have a problem with it. ---

My body is completely off limits during my period. I have a hard enough time working up the gumption to get out of bed. My entire body hurts and putting on a bra has even made me cry. I am not even remotely horny and I feel dirty even right out of the shower. During a good period, cuddling is possible. During a bad one, I will sleep on the couch to prevent him or a dog touching a boob, my back, or my gut in their sleep. Luckily for me, my boyfriend is completely grossed out by sex that involves blood clots. 😃 ---

I avoid it. I don’t feel good at all during my period, so I don’t really want to be touched. Boyfriend is kind of squicked out by it too, so it’s not an issue. Besides, my period is only about a day and a half long, so it’s not like I’m going without for long! :flees: ---

I’m a guy and I think it’s fine. I even don’t mind wearing the condoms, for those special moments.
