Hunt’s is better.
For the Trader Joe’s crowd…does anyone eat their Raisin Bran? I bought some last week and IMO it tastes like sawdust with raisins. Awful, REALLY awful and I tossed it–and back to Post (and only POST) Raisin Bran.
Dina Merrill can have my money…LOL.
I agree. It also beat out Heinz in the Cooks Illustrated tests as well, so that’s another point in its favor.
On a related point, what’s it called when there’s a clearly dominant name brand, a lesser brand, and then the house brands? Like, for example ketchup- Heinz is the 800 lb gorilla, Hunt’s is the lesser brand, and everywhere has a house brand.
I’m very likely to use the lesser brand- Schick instead of Gillette, Hunt’s instead of Heinz, All instead of Tide, B&L instead of Alcon (contact lens solution), etc…
I recall trying Hunt’s once, but don’t remember my reaction. At the time I was probably too absorbed watching the monster truck rally on TV.
Maybe I’ll try a bottle. I was thinking that if Homer Simpson endorsed it, I’d try it. Slight hijack here, but does anyone know if the Simpsons characters endorse any products? Seems to me for a ketchup manufacturer, a Homer Simpson endorsement would be gold.
Bart endorses Butterfingers, but that’s all I can think of.
