# Do you drink tap water?

When you drink water at home,do you drink from the spiggot, or do you buy bottled,or do you purify/filter?
I personally drink right from the spiggot , you know just stick a glass under it and chug,but when I do this,alot of people look at me with utter disgust as if I was lapping right out of the toilet.
What about you?

I cannot stand the “tastes” of tap water–each one is different, some nastier than others.
I have no health concerns about tap water; everywhere I’ve lived has passed the various and sundry purity tests. It’s the taste.
I installed an under sink water filtration system in my home and now drink filtered water from the tap in the kitchen. Change the filters before they become bacteria farms and I’m all set.

When we moved in the house we’re in now there was already a little fountain type thing on the side of our regular sink faucet and i think it was connected to filter. iI don’t know if it actually works though, and we’ve been here for about 4 years and never felt like checking it out. i’m the only one who uses it… everyone else usually drinks bottled water. It tastes pretty good to me, but i put it in a bottle and put in it the fridge (or freezer) before i drink it… don’t really know if that makes the difference:)

I’m pretty sure that taste is from chlorine/chloramines or if you’re in davis chromium-6. let it sit for a day and it SHOULD taste normal. I’d still buy bottled water though.

We have used a faucet mounted filter for the past three years. Our local water system adds a bit too much chlorine and the filter removes that yucky taste. You can get a decent Pur or Culligen for under $40.

I quite like Brisbane water. Drink it from the tap or put it in the fridge to cool down.
The worst tapwater on the planet (and I’m including 3rd world countries) comes from Regina, Saskatchewan. I spent 2 years drinking iced tea concentrate because the tapwater straight was like drinking from a swimming pool.

I _have_ to drink bottled or filtered water. I am literally allergic to the tap water in Hooterville. I could drink the tap water back in L.A., (not that I made a habit of it) but not here. After about a week of drinking Hooterville tap water I start to break out something terrible.

I don’t drink a lot of water at home, but if I do, it’s tap, just put some ice in it (tap water ice, of course), cause it tastes better colder.
Here at school, if I know I’m gonna want water, like if I’m practicing (voice major) or for band camp (color guard), I get bottled. If I’m desperately thirsty and the only thing around is a water fountain, than I’ll drink it, but I won’t like it. I don’t know what it is about the water in this town. It tastes like ass! (figuratively, of course, I’ve never tasted ass.) Nobody can stand the crap. It’s got sort of a sulfur-chlorine-nastysh\*t flavor goin on… I shudder just thinking of it.

I used to drink TONS of tap water, until one day my water started tasting really metallic. I also had a lot of headaches, but that was probably coincidental.
In any case, I switched over to drinking cheap ($.50-70/gallon) spring water. Tastes a lot better, but it’s a little inconvenient given that I usually drink a gallon a day or so.

I get my water from the water store. Los Angeles tap water, if not heavily filtered, is unbearably nasty.

I drink it straight from the tap. (Although, I’m extra finnicky and put it in a glass or bottle first. :)) Perth, Western Australia water tastes just fine to me.

God’s honest truth. Stores that sell only water, water dispensers, botttles and stands. If you tasted what came out of my tap, you’s go there too.

I drink the tap water here in HK - let it run for a while first to rinse any rust out of the system.
Most people here are petrified of the tap water, but I’ve researched it. It’s fine.
I’ve drunk water out of wells in Rumania and Morocco that I later found had bugs (6-legged or 100-legged, not just microscopic ones) - maybe dead sheep - in them. I’m still alive. You need to expose your immune system to some rough stuff - keep it on its toes.

I have a Brita pitcher that I bought. I used to drink the tap water but a few months ago it started tasting a bit different and was a little cloudy, but whatever it is, the pitcher takes care of it and it’s fine.

Our water is pretty good in Orange Park. I use it for ice, chilled from the fridge dispenser, or right out of the tap, unfiltered. When we were in a different house in this county, we were on a well, and that water was also very good. But, the place where my inlaws used to live in Jacksonville had NASTY, sulfur-flavored water with stuff floating in it. I hated drinking water there.

I know that drinking water is good for you, but I’m not going to spend all that money doing it. I’ve stopped drinking water at work, so I have no choice but to stick my cup under the faucet and chug tap water when I’m thirsty. And yes, it does creep people out.

Tap water is practically the only thing I drink nowadays. I’m not sure how healthy the water is with all those chemicals in it, but it’s gotta be better than drinking nothing but pop.
No one thinks it’s weird that I get my water straight from the tap. In fact, my family thinks it’s a good thing that I drink water.
