(mostly for the men out there)… Do any of you still think about your first “relationship”…be it in high school or right after? Do you think fondly of your old girlfriends? Just wondering if others “drift” in the past thinking about old loves. It may just be something us women do… Thanks… ---

I think of my first true love all the time. Of course, I’m married to her, so that may not be very helpful. 😉 Perhaps more to what you’re trying to get at, I think of girls I knew in high school and college now and again… “drifting” in the past, as you say. Whether old friends or infatuations (or both), I do sometimes get caught up in the memory of them. But I’m also a sentimental son of a bitch, so that may also be of little help. I think most guys _do_ think of their first/previous loves… though they may not be as willing to talk about it as women often are. More’s the pity, really. ---

Sure I do, from time to time. Usually several months will go by without a thought about her, but then something will catalyze it. (Not usually like a Proustian thing, but rather more direct – a few days ago, people were talking about the quotes in their high-school yearbook and mine involved her.) Of course, I really only have the one person other than **Mrs. Cliffy** that I can say I had deep feelings for (and said feelings lasted only a few months); if there were more than one girl I felt I’d connected with other than my wife, even for such a short period of time, maybe it wouldn’t be as important to me. –Cliffy ---

It’s been 14 years for me. I was a senior in high school then. Every time I see a movie or even a reference to a movie that I saw with my first girlfriend, or hear a song I remember listening to with her, I think of her. The fact that I also lost my virginity to her also makes it hard to not think about her, especially when I have had so few sex partners and am not currently involved in any dating relationships. ---

Sure do. I have fond memories of her and the times we had. I don’t know how often, though. Maybe every couple of months or so. It has been 15 years or so and my reveries usually consist of wondering if she ever thinks about me. ---

Yep. There have been a few “special” ones I think of from time to time: those few “relationships” that lasted more than 90 days. :smack: Generally these memories are trigerred by a season, a song, a movie, a place, someone wearing someone else’s perfume, the sight of a rare car or something like that. ---

Hell, I still think of a cute girl I had a crush on when I was FOUR, every now and then! I still think of every woman I’ve ever dated and one or two that I’ve had crushes on. I still have the love letters from several of my ex-girlfriends in a box, someplace. I don’t reread them, and I don’t really like the idea of throwing them out or burning them, but I have no idea of what to do with them, so I keep 'em. ---
