That may be true.
Food/exercise are some of those issues that most people take really personally, no matter what side they’re on.

Yes, I feel particularly gross after eating a high-fat meal (fast food, bacon [I know, blasphemy, right?], animal fats in general).
I get the bloated, ugh I ate too much feeling, even if I only ate a little. And then I get the shits, within about 20 minutes. My stomach does not dig that kind of food.
Surprisingly, sugar doesn’t really affect me too much either way.
I feel bad.
I spend a lot of time, and money, trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Then, I come along and sabotage all that by eating some crapshit food. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does, I feel bummed out. And, in fact, all it does is make me want to spend more time, and more money, at working even harder to maintain that healthy lifestyle.
I feel like complete shit (mentally, if not physically.) I’m usually so vigilant about making healthy food choices that I really beat myself up (too much, I know) if I pig out.
If I eat a burger and fries type fast food meal, I always feel extremely thirsty for the rest of the day. I can only assume that a burger and fries has much more salt that I typically consume.
Also, donuts give me digestive issues.
Oh, God, yes. And I feel terrible for about 24 hours, especially after having high-fat, salty junk foods. I had a bloomin’ onion at Outback last night, went to sleep feeling faintly greasy and sluggish and woke up feeling even greasier, kind of nauseated and exhausted.
I don’t have much of a sweet tooth, so I don’t overeat sweets that much, but when I do, I feel jittery, sick and fat.
Ugh. Now I need to work out.
I don’t feel bad after eating junk food, I just know it isn’t helping me in any positive way.
I feel bad after eating too much food. Occasionally the food I eat too much of is junk food, but more often it’s almost-healthy food.
All I know is, you only get one life, and it would be a shame to spend it eating shite that tastes like the bottom of a rabbit hutch.
I tend to feel better, not worse. Both physically, and emotionally. It perks me up, and is easier on the digestion; if I’m depressed or have an upset stomach, a hamburger from McDonalds generally makes it better.
The past several years, yes. I’m 23 now. Up until about 15 though I couldn’t go a day without the stuff. Note that I’m speaking of sweets… not necessarily fast food - I still eat fast food quite often.
Food high in simple sugars makes me feel bad if I eat a lot of it (like when there’s a lot of left over Halloween candy). Greasy or starchy foods don’t give me any trouble, though. I can eat an obscene amount of fast food and feel good afterward, but I’ll drink diet soda or water with it because I don’t like the way regular soda makes me feel.
Eating a lot of raw vegetables can give me a wicked stomach ache, so I exercise more moderation eating them than I do with junk food. If I eat a lot of fresh fruit I end up feeling like I have a giant wad of cotton in my stomach for a couple of days, but no pain.
I’ve found that certain foods affect me after I haven’t eaten them for a long time. Refined sugar makes me very irritable and cranky, so it’s a good thing I don’t care for sweets. Starches and simple carbs like bread, potatoes, pasta make me sleepy and sluggish, nowadays, but I haven’t eaten them as much in the past few years.
Fast food sometimes makes me feel bloated and sluggish, but I’ve found some kinds that don’t bother me a bit. My beloved Big Mac is a no-go now, but Taco Bell is fine. I think it’s just what my stomach and my system is used to, and my body processes food differently now that it’s used to processing different foods on a daily basis.
For me it all depends, if I eat pancakes or donuts or things that are too high-sugar/high-carb, I get the sleepies. Not so good before a long morning drive. On the other hand, higher protein junk (i.e. McDonalds breakfast or a frozen breakfast sandwich) does right by me and I stay full until lunch.
Now if I couple that lunch with fried everything, I feel like crap.
I recently got back from Orlando where every dinner was a bucket of beers and some form of fried seafood. I felt like hammered shit when I got back.
On the other side, if I’m too into the healthy food I feel bloated and am reporting same often throughout the day.
So for me it depends, higher carbs do greater damage in general but as long as there’s a protein boost, I don’t feel quite as bad.
The one sure way for me to ruin my day is to eat some Doritos. I adore salty snack food, but every time I eat it I feel gross for a couple of hours.
