My how times change. Anyone else here old enough to remember when Edmund Muskie’s tears cost him the nomination? Of course, Muskie had reason to be emotional…IIRC an assholish right-wing newspaper publisher, William Loeb, had been slandering his (Muskie’s) wife. The day after Muskie’s public display of emotion Loeb’s glaring headline was something to the effect of _Do we want a crybaby for President?_…and the Muskie campaign bit the dirt. ---

I’d never heard “boobing” before either. I opened the thread hoping that the OP had meant something else and had made a hilarious typo. Does Boehner often bob around in an annoying manner? ---

Hi is a pussy. Today he was crying because he got re-elected as House Speaker, and all his friends had promised to vote for someone else. But as it turns out, he is the real face of the Republican party, a bunch of cry babies. ETA: Oh yeah, ‘boobing’, if that’s what it means, it’s a waste of a good term. ---

I remember the Muskie flap, and I don’t give a damn if politicians shed appropriate tears. Sincere emotion is not a sin. But Boehner’s being an ass has nothing to do with his crying. ---

I find it a tad unprofessional under the circumstances, but I refuse to call him a “pussy” just for bring emotional. And I have better reasons to dislike the man than his blubbing. ---
