> I voted “Yes, but…” with the “but” being: yes, I put clothes on. But I generally don’t put the same kinds of clothes on when I plan on spending the day around the house that I do when I go to work.

This is exactly why I also said “yes but.” Also, at home I avoid wearing shoes as much as I can. I hate wearing shoes.

I get dressed. I hate our house so I’m either
a) going out somewhere
b) fixing something here
Either way I’m not doing it nude.

Pajama days are one of life’s greatest pleasures. Pair with Doritos for maximum enjoyment.

Often bare nakies, often just a shredded old t-shirt and skivvies.

(And the blinds are closed, to spare the poor neighbors!)

I have dogs, which means no matter what, when I wake up, they need to go outside. And if they are outside, there is always a remote chance that I will need to go outside, too, for some reason, and I don’t want to be standing out there in my sleepwear, which is a tee shirt and nothing else, or worse yet, chasing an escapee down the laneway, cheeks flapping in the breeze, hoping none of the neighbours see. So I dress, at least minimally when I wake up.

Plus right now, the thermostat is set to 17, (about 68 F, I think), so lounging naked has zero appeal. Longjohns, sweats and fleece are my day off attire.

Something doesn’t quite feel right about eating BBQ ribs in the nude.

For me it’s PJs in the winter, and cotton shorts with a sleeveless T in the summer.

“Dressed” to me is clothes I want to be seen in by coworkers, friends, neighbors, or general public. “Not dressed” is whatever long t-shirt with panties and slippers I’m wearing around the house and possibly slept in. I try to have one day a week I don’t have to go anywhere or do anything, and that’s my “not dressed” day. So I’m not naked, but I’m definitely not what I consider dressed, either.

There is always somewhere I have to be in the morning (several diferent outdoor locations to feed the various animals - some visible from the road), so I do chuck on yesterdays clothes and go get that done first thing every morning. Then it’s a shower and fresh clothes.

But thinking back to when I lived in suburbia and had days when there was nothing to do and no animals around - yeah I put clothes on. I don’t like the feel of sitting on random things with no underpants on. Nor do I like how my boobs feel / look / get in the way, without some sort of bra on. So at least some sort of clothing goes on, even if it’s not necessarily clothes that are appropriate to go out in public in. But I’ll only put shoes on if I have to - I love the feeling of bare feet.

That’s interesting **SeaDragonTattoo**. That would never have occurred to me. To me “not dressed” = naked and “dressed” = clothes on. It doesn’t have anything to do with the style or quality of the clothes, it’s just a binary on/off thing. But by the sounds of it, what you would call “not dressed”, I would call sloppily dressed, or dressed daggy, or dressed in around-the-home clothes.

That’s what I assumed and was shocked at the number of people who don’t dress on their days off. That’s a heck of a lot of nudes I thought. Then I realized most people were talking about wearing a certain kind of clothes when they said they dressed. Huh.

I have two sets of everyday clothes: outside clothes and around the house clothes. Outside clothes are clothes I wear to work or when going out and about. Around the house clothes are sweat pants or shorts and tee shirts. I change into my around the house clothes almost immediately after coming home each day.

What? Here it is, now 8:30PM, and I’ve been drinking beer all day, and I’m still buck naked.

Doritos while naked are great!

Thank you for saying “panties”. There are some on this board who hate that word, but I love that word.

I feel that if I can have even a tiny part in people learning that it’s preferable to think they’re not dressed when in pajamas, there would be far, far, fewer people going to the store in their pajamas. When someone calls me and wants to do something on the fly when I had no plans, pretty much always the next thing out of my mouth is, “well, I’m not dressed yet - I can meet you in an hour.” Doesn’t mean I’m nekkid, but still definitely not dressed to leave the house!

I find it amusing to say, and it succinctly describes that I’m female without having to say so. Also, using names or nicknames with -pants added at the end.

Not to mention that I’m an author of erotic spanking stories, and there is a huge difference between “get those panties off!” and “remove your underwear!”

As a current professional bon-bon eater, I didn’t vote. These days, I usually shower before dinner, to clean off the baby and house-cleaning schmutz. So sometimes I’m in my jammies till 4 PM or so.

But I try to wear pretty jammies. 😛

ETA: Sometimes I just put different pretty jammies on after the shower…
