My butt is blocking the seat when I use the bidet spray and I close the lid to flush so I’m not sure what extra plume there is. ---

I mean, the thing that sold me is just thinking about it. If I get my hands full of shit, I don’t wipe it off with a paper towel, I spray it clean. Why wouldn’t I do the same for my backside? ---

I’ve been thinking about getting one for years, but wasn’t sure I’d actually like it or how effective it would be. Then a few weeks ago I was in a Kohler showroom and needed to use the rest room. They has one of their ultra-fancy toilets with built-in bidet, remote control on the wall. Didn’t care about the toilet seat automatically rising and lighting up as I approached, but I am sold on the bidet function. Need to work out the electrical and I’m ready to go. ---

No, the point of a bidet is to help clean your bottom. I generally use toilet paper, too. ---

I use some toilet paper (to dry off, if anything) but much less than I was using before the bidet. ---

First splurged for a single high-end Toto washlet at our previous house. Once we bought our new house, all toilets, even our guest bathrooms, have the newer model of that bidet. Endless warm water, heated seat, drying function, night light, odor removal, and even a frontal wash for the ladies. I try to find hotels that have them when I’m on vacation now, but it’s tricky. PS Even with the drying functionality, some people still use small amounts of toilet paper to ensure that they are completely clean. A test wipe, if you will. ---

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t. Usually just a couple squares of TP to dry off. The point for me is not so much to reduce waste (though there is some of that), it’s so I feel like I have a clean behind. ---

Neither. Never used a bidet - even when they were available in hotel rooms. Personally, never perceived a difficulty with TP. ---
