Do you have a favorite Sesame Street song?

I don’t know that I have a favorite. (though, reading through this list a lot of songs are now stuck in my head)
But I have a very specific memory of food on parade to the tune of “Pomp and Circumstance.” I think it ended “and blueberry pie.” Did I imagine that?

It was on the sesame Street album I had

I have a soft spot for “C is for Cookie.” My son would watchthis video over and over and over again when he was little.

I loved Sesame Street when I was a kid, and I loved watching it with my son. He outgrew it around the time my daughter would’ve been into it, which sort of kept her from watching it as much as my son and I did, for which I’m kinda sad. I wish she had as many Sesame Street memories as I do (and my son will have).

sniff

Yes, I would have to agree with that. Funny how our tastes change .

I have to say, Ladybug’s Picnic often runs through my head even today.

Halfway down the Stairs

A very famous song, with a less-famous rendition… :eek::eek:

Me too

So many good ones listed above! I’ve always been partial to the creepy “Would you like to buy an O?”

I also like the messed up versions of nursery rhymesas supplied by Don Music and Reporter Kermit. I sing those around the house sometimes just to watch my 5 y.o. get irrationally huffy. Unfortunately she never got into Sesame Street much.

Two of my top three have been mentioned already: Put Down The Ducky and Dance Myself To Sleep so I’ll add…

The O Song.

I love the minor chords!

ETA: Not the same O song as above…
.

Great nominees here and I love most of them but There’s a few me and my brother still rock out to.

Telephone Rock - Little Jerry and the Monotones

How could anyone forget Little Chrissy and The Alphabeats?
Exit
Count It Higher

And this one - Fat Cat
My daughter’s favorite is Hot n Cold with Elmo and Katy Perry… I can’t say I mind

Oh yeah, I love the E song that sits alongside this one. The violin is quite beautiful.

Oooh, here’s one that had been in the back of my mind. YouTube calls it Sing Your Synonyms, which takes place in an art gallery where Luis and Maria bicker about word choice. It’s a send-up of “Let’s Call the Whole Thing Off”.

How I Miss My X, sung by the legendary Patti LaBelle. Another one I’d forgotten!

In the past three years I’ve had the opportunity to watch a lot of recent Sesame Street episodes on Netflix with a companion. Episode 4317 from 2013, “Figure It Out, Baby Figure It Out,” starring Donald Glover as musician LMNOP, has a very catchy tune that promotes the theme of the episode.

Sometimes you got a problem, the kind you can’t erase
Sometimes it jumps up and slaps you in the face
Don’t run around in circles, don’t scream and shout
Just put your heads together and figure it out

Figure it out, baby figure it out
Figure it out, baby figure it out
Don’t run around in circles, don’t scream and don’t shout
Just put your heads together and figure it out

There’s a lot to be said for “Onetwothree FOUR FIVE sixseveneightnineten ELEVEN TWELVE!”
