I realized that of all the dates in the beginning of November, I associate November 4th the most with presidential elections. I wasn’t sure which election that was - and after checking it seems that I’m remembering the 1980 election. I was only eight years old! Perhaps that date has stuck in my mind because it was also the one year anniversary of the Iran hostage crisis. Still surprising that this date has been stuck in my head for so long. Anyone else have a particular date they associate with elections? ---

Just the first Tuesday of November, not a date. Sandwiched between Halloween & Veterans Day. ---

If I didn’t make it clear, I certainly know that it’s the first Tuesday of November, and not a permanent date. And yet, of all the possible dates that Tuesday can fall on, the one that most says “Election Day” to me is November 4. ---

Apart from being on Tuesday and early in November, I never associated it with a particular date. My birthday is on the 9th, though, so I’ve always associated election day as being before my birthday. I lose track easily because I’ve only ever voted by mail, so rather than an election day, it’s been more of an election deadline for me. ---

I don’t know if I have a specific date, but I do somehow feel like November 1 (and maybe November 2) is too early. It feels like moving days like this shouldn’t begin (or end) the month. If I had to pick a day, I guess I actually associate it with “around November 7th” (the latest it can actually be). That may also be part of why I feel like the 8th or 9th makes more sense to me. ---

Not really although I think they avoid November 1 for All Saints Day, I could be wrong. ---
