# Do you have an alibi?

Local law enforcement just came knockin’. Someone you know was murdered, and they were universally disliked, so they’re interviewing almost everyone the victim knew. **You need an alibi for 7:30-9:30 PM on Monday, January 24th.**
Do you have one? Can anyone verify it? How long will it take you to come up with the answer and/or proof?
You don’t have to talk to the officer, you can call your lawyer and tell them. But you do need an alibi.
Me, I might be screwed…I live alone and am isolating. Best I could do is check my text logs and see if I was texting anyone at the time.

I was sitting next to my wife on the couch during that time period, except for when I might have gotten up to go to the bathroom.
I was also playing an MMORPG on my computer, and interacting with a few friends in the game. In a pinch, the company that operates that game could likely provide my game logs for Monday night.

I was with my gf. We ate dinner from 7:30 to 8 ish, then she looked at Facebook while I looked at YouTube.
_But_ I wouldn’t offer the alibi right away, rather I’d lawyer up, as is my wont.

Jeopardy came on at 7:30. Then spousal unit clicked around on the TV and I played some games on the tablet. Unfortunately, I can’t find any posts on the Dope during that period, nor did I text with anyone, so my husband is my alibi.

Hmmm. A reason to not have all the extra privacy protocols on my Alexa(s) enabled. Naawww, I’ll just join those who only have cellphone and online game logs + spouse to verify my presence. I can’t trust the cats to vouch for me, they’d sell me out in a hot minute for anyone who’d feed (Chungus cat) or brush (Spaz cat) them.

Yeah I have one. But that’s only bc I was at work. Any other time I would have been screwed.
I remember one night a cop came banging on my door. I was home alone. The cop asked me if anyone else was in my house. I told her ‘no’ but she wanted to come inside and check anyway bc there were reports of a woman screaming coming from my house. I knew I had every right to tell the cop to go pound sand but I let her in anyway mostly bc of the stigma that goes with being a middle aged guy living alone. (Also, I knew who they were looking for. It was the couple that lives in the house behind me. They’re always screaming at each other)

Watching TV by myself… but what if I could rattle off the plotlines of all the TV shows I watched?

So back to Rob Lowe, turns out the undocumented families he discovered in a barn in the ice storm are being hunted by the Sheriff or a deputy maybe who turns out SPOIIILER! sorry to shout, habit, but the old guy is working for a drug cartel and shipping the dirt-poor-but-still-photogenic ‘illegals’ to Mexico. So all of a sudden Rob Lowe has this huge gun trained on him and he looks well, sort of scared. I don’t know about you but he just looks a little too pretty for my tastes, I remember back in the Brat Pack days, he was in a movie, some rom-com, and his buddy… Jim Belushi could that be right?.. says 'Your problem is you’re too good-looking for most women. Your best hope would be an industrial accident." So that’s what I was thinking about when suddenly the sheriff’s car blows up! Well, it turns out wait, where are you going, Officer _Boojee?_ I’m only up to about 7:50 we haven’t gotten to the dénouement damn, I love that word, _day-NUU-mahn’…_

That’s about what it is for me, too. I probably also teamed up with some other players during that time span, but I surely don’t remember any specifics five days later, and probably neither would they.

I was on a Delta flight from Boston to Detroit. I think that alibi would hold up.
