Clackers - Not any more, dammit.
Estes Rockets - You bet!
Water Rocket - Yup!
Air guns - (Not a toy, although many treat them as such) sure.
Bow and Arrows - Somewhere, in storage.
Dart gun - Got that, too.

Most are in storage, the rest are locked up: The daughter’s too young to learn about the fun of risking life and limb.

Two swords (live steel, reasonably sharp) and a small axe (cast not forged, but can split your skull anyway) hanging on the wall. Two small daggers, one of which I’ve been playing with constantly for the past week.

And, of course, Junior. Capable of inflicting pregnancy at distances of up to six inches, and I play with it all the time. So I guess it’s a toy. 😉

To me a toy is anything you don’t really need that you have or use anyway, just for the pleasure of doing so. (Exception: I do need Junior.) So if I owned any firearms, or if I got back into archery, then those would definitely count as toys to me.

Anyone remember Micronauts? Little men made of colored plastic or metal, with metallic heads. They had little vehicles that you could mix and match parts of. A couple of the vehicles had little dart attachments that were spring-loaded. The darts were tipped with rubber, but they went quite a distance when fired. My husband said that later models were made so that the darts didn’t come out all the way. But they were cool.

Well, We had a homemade Slip’N’Slide when I was a kid. We would wet the slide on the swing set, slide down it onto a bunch of wet exersize mats and then proceed to slide down a grass hill, at full speed until we ran into the Redwood tree at the bottom of the hill. Does that count?

Of course, I can make any toy dangerous. I have told this story before, but I will tell it again. I once had a little wooden whistle that I would walk around the house playing. One day I was walking around, not paying attention to where I was going, and I ran into a door, and the mouth piece of the whistle peeled off the roof of my mouth.

Oh well, I healed, and besides, I am a huge believer of little kids having the ability to break an arm at any time. Otherwise, the chances are that they aren’t having a very good time. 🙂

I, by the way, never broke any bones, so none of my “So dangerous that they were outlawed” toys, could have been that bad.

Someone’s selling a set of lawn darts on eBay:

The auction started yesterday, and bidding has already gone over $100 - must be a real collector’s item.

**RoboDude** : The lawn darts are no longer on eBay. Since they have been banned, eBay deletes the listing as soon as they find it.

Okay, how many of you _have_ dangerous toys; as opposed to having had them when you were kids?
