Current pets: Moose- M- Beagle/Surprise mix. AKA Schmoose, and, when I really want him to come to me, “Wanna Cookie?” Caribou- M- DSH tabby cat. AKA Kabuki. He’s a sleep-under-the-covers, curl under your chin kind of cat. Not a fan of cold weather, so quite cuddly. Skunk- F- DSH black kitten. AKA Skunkmonkey (the SuperBowl has nothing on me), Kunkers, Baby Girl, and Squeak (as that is generally the sound she makes). Her mother, Michelle Obama, has been cranking out kittens for YEARS (she’s a farm cat, and not to be trifled with) and finally, Dick- M- DSH grey tiger. AKA Clyde (because me son refuses to call him Dick after my daughter and I spent an hour laughing over all the great lines you can use when you have a pet named Dick. Try it, it is hard to stop), and Asshole. If I had a dollar for every time my son told me that is was a self-fulfilling prophecy since I just had to call him Dick… ---

The four wiener dogs are collectively “The Killer Elite”. They are hard on the small things. I call them “Fartknuckle” individually at times. ---

[This is Velcro](http://imgur.com/KLERXhu) (that’s his official name with the vet and all). His favorite spot to sit is [here](http://imgur.com/PtvdEa1). He is also known as: Kittenbutt (or, when more formal Velcro the Kittenbutt) Wee Beastie Monster Dude (as in “dude, what?”) There will be more over time, I’m sure. I’ve only had him 3 weeks. ---

Niblet is fifteen and a rather standoffish cat. She is gray and white, and on the bottom of one all-white foot is a gray spot about the size of a pea. Because of this her nickname is “Tarheel”. Oddly enough. on the upper part of her body where her fur is mostly gray is a similar-sized white spot. ---

I’m apparently furthering gender norms, as I call my female chihuahua “Sweetie” and my male dachshund “Buddy.” The girl’s name is Taffy, so we often call her Taffy-laffy or Tilaffia or weird variations of her name. Technically, we always call the boy by a nickname, as his name is fully “Dallas Reesis,” as my sister named him. But we’ve always called him Reese. I don’t know where the Dallas part comes from, But his middle name is correlated with his sister’s name. ---
