I once went away for the weekend and left out 4 days worth of food and came back half an hour later to get a bag that I forgot and found that he had eaten 4 days worth of food in 30 minutes and then vomited it back up all over the floor!) I can’t resist puns in cat names for some reason. Mesabi: Sabi, Ding-Dong (because he’s such a ding-dong), Nursy (when we got him and his brother, he would nurse on anyone; he’ll still try to nurse on my wife’s clothing when he’s really relaxed and happy). Tuscany: Tusc, Tusca-duska, Needy (if he isn’t picked up and held for long enough when I get home, he’ll follow me around mewling desperately) The pun in the brothers’ names I leave to the reader. Five: Nuprin. She was very yellow when we got her, and the tiny kitten contrasted sharply with the older cat we had that time. Little, yellow, different; Nuprin. The pun in her name is obvious to IT geeks everywhere. ---

We have two female Maine Coon cats named Daphne and Velma. For unknown reasons, my wife started calling Daphne “Daphne Doo-doo” and it stuck. Now she’s usually just “Doo-doo.” Velma is often referred to as “Monkey” for reasons that would be obvious if you knew her. ---
