We had an office manager/cleaner who I nicknamed Wicked Witch Of The West, from her obnoxious personality. Somebody must have told her, too, from the hints she dropped. ---

Years ago we had a new guy start and suddenly there was pee all over the unisex bathroom floors, so my work bestie and I called him “Puddles”. ---

Not a coworker, but when we lived in Florida, we’d frequently see a somewhat bedraggled bearded guy walking along the roads - always alone, never carrying anything, never on any sort of regular schedule. We just referred to him as Walking Dude. Then one day we realized we hadn’t seen him for quite some time. I’ve often wondered what became of him. ---

When I was in Navy boot camp, my company commander assigned me to the position of company yeoman, a pretty sweet gig that got me excused from some of the more obnoxious chores. The guys all decided that I was to be known as “Radar.” At my last plant, there was a guy who rather resembled a homeless junkie. My completely private nickname for him was “Undercover Boss.” ---
