Do you have sympathy for YouTubers?

I have yet to see a “YouTube personality” whom I didn’t want to strangle within the first 60 seconds of their blabber, but if I ever do, and they end up failing, I may feel some sympathy. No promises.

There are quite a few channels that have no talking at all. Admittedly, most of those include background music, but you can turn that down or off.

Primitive Technology uses only ambient sounds. There are occasional subtitles to explain bits.

So what I’m basically getting at is - do you think being a YouTuber is a legitimate career choice today and should uploaders be getting sympathy for trouble caused when they either run out of ideas or YouTube move the goalposts?

It seems to me that getting “money for nothing” by just filming yourself at no cost apart from your own time is a pretty lousy way to plan a future, but what do I know apparently there are YouTube millionaires.
