Yeah, I collect currency from wherever I’ve gone plus a few other countries.
I’m pretty sure I’ve got over 50 different countries’ currencies. I was traveling before the adoption of the Euro, so I have a bunch of different European currencies.
One of the rarer things I have is actual Zimbabwean coins. I think I actually have a Zimbabwe penny, if you want to talk about low value coins! I actually have a bunch of black 100 Zim Dollar chips from the casino in Victoria Falls, which I think is kind of hilarious. I also think I have some Ecuadorian coins which are rare because they switched over to US dollars some time ago.
I remember Desert Nomad saying that he had some Rwanda money and I was going to ask him for some since my wallet got pickpocketed by a woman of questionable repute at a disco in Kampala, Uganda. I actually got my wallet returned to me by the American Embassy about a year later!
Yes - I’ve got a metal sweet tin in my cupboard that contains a wide assortment of coins from all over the world (including modern and obsolete ones), plus pre-decimal British coins and some versions of British decimal coins that have been phased out or redesigned - such as a number of half (new)pennies, old (larger) 50p, 10p, 5p, bronze 2p and 1p (back when they said ‘new pence’ on them).
I don’t tend to keep multiple examples of the same issue of the same coin and none of these are mint - it’s just a big, rattling tin of assorted money. The kids love it. Their kids might love it more (coins could be obsolete in a few decades)

Uzbek and Kyrgyz sum/som (I keep these in my bag in case I need to get outta here fast!)
Probably others. It is nice to have a bit of cash at hand whenever you arrive somewhere.
Yes, I like to collect foreign coins when I happen across them. And sometimes I like to flatten them on railroad tracks.
