I remember him saying that someone was taking some pot shots at the Casa De Silenus sometime earlier this year or maybe last year. Maybe it’s those loud shirts we keep hearing about. 
fetus, it was big story in the Bay Area, and I think it may have made the national news, too. About 19-20 years ago, though. IIRC, there were a bunch of domestic murders of the same type, with the husband shooting/killing his wife and kids, really close together that year. I didn’t meet my co-worker until years after it had happened.
Yeah. Two people I knew. I won’t say their names but they can be found on this website.
An aquaintance of mine was shot in the head during a mugging by some kid who was pissed he didn’t have a lot of money. Supposedly he would have died if the bullet (a .22) hadn’t been defective.
The son of a family friend was murdered about 25 years ago. He would have been my age.

My old neighbor (Viatnamese male, DC suburbs) was fatally shot in the head kneeling execution-style by his son for not coughing up money for drugs.
My cousin (white male, DC suburbs) was shot in the head and killed by his best friend as he walked away during an argument. Apparently both were high.
A friend of mine was shot in the City of Chicago many years ago. He was a member of a white urban youth gang (I don’t want to mention their name) in the Andersonville area. It was four blocks from the Summerdale Police Station. It was a “turf” issue. He’s white, middle aged now and lives in the Northwest Suburbs.
A close friend of my husband’s shot himself in the foot maybe 30 years ago. A whole bunch of friends were hanging out in this kid’s bedroom, he had a gun they were fooling around with - he pointed it at the ground and thinking it was NOT loaded, pulled the trigger. Shot himself through his own damn boot. They were white, middle class, well to do, high teenagers.
I went with a cop for 10 years and never knew a cop who was shot.
The only person to survive the Montclair NJ post office mass shooting was a co-worker’s son.
Worked with a guy whose Dad shot him in the stomach with a .357 “accidentally” outside of bar when they were both drunk. Hell of a scar.
I don’t know anyone who has been shot that I know of.
A kid at my high school shot and killed himself, but I didn’t know him at all.
A friend of mine in college was randomly attacked on the street and stabbed (it was really bizarre actually), and suffered a collapsed lung, but that’s the closest I’ve ever been to anything like that.

One of my friends was shot in the face by an armed robber during the robbery of a smart and final store. He disarmed and disabled one robber before realizing there were two others. Thanks to good plastic surgery and ER docs he just has a dimple to show for it.
I knew a kid in high school who committed suicide with a rifle.
This was back in the mid-'70’s, during the “streaking” craze.
He decided he was going to “streak” at the high school, and in an apparent attempt to attain popularity/notoriety he called the radio station that all the kids listened to and notified them of his intent, I guess thinking they would not take it seriously and he would become a celebrity.
Instead, they called the police, who were waiting for him when he emerged naked from one of the boy’s rooms. He was arrested for public indecency and killed himself shortly thereafter.
He was a typical white, suburban kid in a typical white suburban high school.

I certainly hope this didn’t happen while you were IN high school, though I assume he’s still been awaiting that date for a while. Why they don’t just take him out behind the shed is beyond me.
Yep. Old coworker grew up in Los Angeles. He was an innocent bystander when some guy pulled a gun. One round hit him in the leg.
Young and black. Ninth grade IIRC.
A first-cousin of mine was intentionally shot and killed, and an uncle has been shot a couple of times. Once was intentional and the other time he caught a stray.
I’m black, male and grew up in inner-city Cleveland, OH.
I didn’t know him, but my uncle was a cop who was shot and killed before I was born.

White middle class Canadian. A friend of mine was shot about 18 years ago as he was going up some stairs in a nightclub here in Calgary, and he was a white middle class skateboarder type of kid.
He was only shot in the back of his leg, but it took some time for him to recuperate.
In chicago I paid this seventeen year old guy (son of downstairs neighbor) to walk my dog when i was staying late in lab. He’s been shot twice. Drive by on the street both times. Probably related but maybe not. If not that is re-goddamn-diculous
My history teacher in high school later became Principal of Red Lion School District, near York, PA. He was shot by a 14 year old boy in 2003 (murder/suicide in front of other students). Story here.
I miss Mr. Segro. He was one of the kindest teachers I’ve ever had.
