Don’t know how true this is. This Monday in British news there was an interview with a Cardinal from the Vatican who claimed that the Anti Christ was alive and well. The signs of the Anti Christ were ;- vegetarian environmentalist animal rights activist human rights activist AM I THE ANTI CHRIST? While I do believe in the bible, etc, I have to believe that the Antichrist has to also be French. * * * Voted Rookie of the Year in MPSIMs and the Pit, along with Best One-liners. And I don’t plan on keeping this as my sig for long, just until the winning buzz wears off. ---

The RCC is probably the institution _least_ interested in turning ancient symbolic prohecies into current predictions. It would be interesting to know what cardinal has allegedly wandered outside the mainstream to embrace this sort of silliness. (On the other hand, a quoted “interview” in a tabloid can be made to say a whole lot of different things. I think we’ve narrowed it down to two people: Either Bill Gates or Al Gore. Here’s why: The “number of The Beast” is 666. In Roman numerals, three sixes are VIVIVI. That is very similar to WWW, the world wide web, or “The Internet.” Bill Gates had a heavy role in the marketing of PCs that gave birth to the Internet. Al Gore, on the other hand, invented the Internet. So, those are the two to watch out for. ---

Anyone remember watching that Nostradamus movie about 20 years ago, narrated by Orson Welles? There was supposed to be a guy in a blue turban from the Middle East who was the third antichrist (after Napoleon and Hitler). Who was that? Ok, I’m going to be serious for a second, even if this thread has been mostly humorous. Here’s a really good rule of thumb. The person who the media, and your friends say IS the anti-Christ, really **isn’t** him. When the Jews, and others, think that their savior has come for the first time; THAT man, will most likely be the anti-Christ. My point was that pretty much the only difference between Christians’ descriptions of Jesus and the Anti-Christ is that they somehow magically know that Jesus was good and the Anti-Christ is bad. There’s absolutely nothing to distiguish Jesus from the Anti-Christ; anything Jesus allegedly did, it is conceivable that the Anti-Christ will be able to do. And just as you say that the Anti-Christ will pretend to be Jesus, many Jews believe that Jesus was pretending to be God. How can you base your life on a belief system that posits that good and evil appear exactly the same, except perhaps to certain special people “gifted” with faith in a ceratin person? Are you so sure of your infallibility that you are sure that even though the Anti-Christ is capable of “fooling billions”, he’s not capable of fooling you? ---
