# Do you know why there are no christians on the Supreme Court?

I hope this is where you put jokes even though it is true
They still have a hard job to do … I do not envy them. The next few deciscions will change America one way or another (no pun intended)
perhaps someone could answer who the last christian was on the Supreme Court
I say Sandra Day O’ Conor the first woman selected to serve the court

What religions do you believe the present Supreme Court justices follow? From Wikipedia:

It is indeed where we put jokes. I must admit that I am entirely failing to see any joke whatsoever in your post, either in the supposed punchline or subsequent “pun”.
Also, as noted your basic premise is either fundamentally wrong or requires a definition of “Christian” that is unique to you.

I’ve had a number of discussions over the last decade or so with Catholics who were arguing that they were not Christians. Said discussions usually ended with me laughing hysterically at them and them being angry.

Let me see if I can try to translate this joke.
Using the definition of Christian to mean only those who believe exactly what I believe, the fact that their are only Catholics and Jews on the Supreme court means that there are no Christians. Further those who claim to be protestant may also not be Christian because they made decisions I don’t agree with.
Under the assumption that Jesus (also known as **H** e with creative capitalization) is in charge of everything (praise Jesus for sparing me from the Tornado **H** e sent) means the fact that there are no “Christians” on the Supreme court must be part of **H** is plan. This seems contradictory since one would believe it is beneficial to **H** is plan have real followers of Christ in high positions of power.
However, given that the supreme court has produced decisions that I don’t agree with (such as upholding separation of church and state, allowing people to decide for themselves what they do with their bodies or in their own bedrooms), they have opened themselves up to ridicule. Were they Christian, some of the ridicule would also extend to Christ.
Therefore the confusion as to why **H** e, would arrange for a court completely lacking in **H** is followers is explained by **H** is desire to avoid ridicule.

There are five Christians on the Supreme Court: Roberts, Thomas, Scalia, Alito, and Sotomayor.

They like to differentiate themselves from the Capital - Chi Christians so as not to be mistaken for a group of snake-grabbers.

I’m not calling you a liar, but I kinda doubt this. Usually (as in, very nearly without exception) it’s the other way around: a fundie Protestant (most often Baptist) doesn’t consider Catholics to be Christian, because of that eeeeeevil Pope dude they got over there :rolleyes:
There are currently no Protestants on the Supreme Court. Probably, this is what the joke in the OP is referring to.

I’m a Catholic. Well raised that way. There is no way that the Catholic Church does not consider itself Christian. The first Christian church.

In rural Mexico, “cristiano” often does indeed mean “Protestant” – usually, a newer evangelical “templo” (often teetotalers), in contrast to the old Catholic “iglesia” (church) down the street. If pressed, most would say that of course they’re both “cristianos,” but nevertheless the expression is still used to mean specifically “Protestants.”
Maybe Bo’s acquaintances are of Latino origins?

I have asked Catholic’s if they are christians and they say, “No I am a Catholic”
You do realize that the Catholic church considers itself the only church going to heaven don’t you?
The bottom line however is that they need our prayers just like president Obama does.
Did everyone agree with LBJ or Nixon … I don’t think so yet God was in control then and He is still in control now.
