Looks like I’m sharing this board with a bunch of weirdo’s. Lumpy Mash? :rolleyes: Mash has to be silky smooth, Ever since I bought myself a ricer a few years back, I haven’t looked back, its so much easier than doing it with a hand masher. ---

Lumps are good. I still have teeth, and I believe chewing is part of the pleasure of eating. Potatoes can be cooked in a myriad of ways that leave them with more texture than wallpaper paste, so I usually eschew ingestion of the nearly fluid varieties of “whipped” potatoes. ---

My point is that I believe “smooth” mashed potatoes are the nadir of the tuber’s preparations. Do you like whipped steak or pureed turkey? 😉 ---
