# Do You Like October Skies?

Yesterday I took the dogs for a long walk in the woods…it was a typicalOctober day…dark , mysterious clouds scudding by, and a chilly wind. The sun came and went, as the dark clouds made the sky first bright then dark. I was really reminded of the old Van Morrision song “MOONDANCE”…“its a marvellous night for a moon dance”  
Anyway, as wee (in the Northern Hemisphere) bid farewellto the sun, I find October to be a wistful month…on the one hand, I miss the summer…but the skiesof October are something special!

Very true! “Wistful” is a good word for it, too. I used to think Autumn was melancholy but I’m better medicated now but not so doped as to not feel wistful.

Autumn is my favorite time of year.

Last night we had a really cool wind storm. I went out around midnight and stood on top of the little hill at the edge of the property and watched the dark clouds sliding past the moon. The wind making the trees groan and creak. I like October weather.
