Put me in with this camp. While some of the “Web 2.0” tricks are nice, how does a blog post differ significantly from a GeoCities page with a guestbook attached to it.
Yes, Web 2.0 standards and programming tricks made the process to create those pages more streamlined, but to act like it’s some special trick, and not the common upgrade cycle found in all software, is the biggest marketing scam in history.
I could create a lengthy pit thread detailing some of the Web 2.0 arguments I’ve gotten into, but I don’t think it’s even worth that.
