We do, mostly based on color. A decade ago, we had Emerelda, a beautiful green car. Then came Ruby Begonia, a nice dark red SUV. Recently we bought a gold-colored minivan and we are toying with the name Golden Retriever because we haul so much stuff home. Any suggestions? 😃 ---

No, we don’t, and I think it’s strange when people do. I don’t think I actually know anyone in real life that has ‘named’ their vehicle. I wonder if it’s a regional thing? ---

Yes. My Taurus with the rust hole in the door was “Bullet.” I forget what my little Escort was. My current Escape is “Rupert” as in “Escape (the Piña Colada Song)” by Rupert Holmes. Golden retriever sounds pretty good for yours. Or Gold Box! ---

I name many of my musical instruments but I don’t usually reveal the names to anybody. My car, though, has no name. Maybe because it used to be my mother’s car and she doesn’t name her cars. ---

I drove through the desert in a car with no name. Have you read the somewhat silly novel _Coyote Blue_ by Christopher Moore? (Kinda silly fun read; vaguely Vonnegut-esque.) It features some Native American Crow Indians living on their reservation, one of whom has a beat-up old jalopy that they named Black Cloud Follows. ---

I had never named any car before, not even after taking them on lengthy road trips, but this April I decided my 2012 Honda Civic Hybrid has a name, after driving through Monument Valley (_spectacular_ scenery; _spectacularly_ bad roads). Her name is Constance. ---

One of my cars got named the Swamp Buggy since I had a bad habit of leaving its windows down when it rained. That caused a Coke spilled on the passenger’s seat years before to upwell from the padding, staining the passengers’ clothes a swampy brown. ---

The Four Corners area is our favorite vacation spot, and, as you said, spectacular scenery. Our favorite roads there were the back roads, letting us observe and interact with the Navajo people and their culture. ---

I never name anything that won’t respond to its name. So as far as I’m concerned the only things worth naming are children and dogs. ---

Sometimes
 Neither my Wife or I have named our daily drivers. It’s the Jeep or the Pathfinder. However, my old plow truck was ‘Puddles’ my new plow truck is ‘William’. My old tractor did not have a name, the new one goes by ‘Buttons’ ---

Yes! My first car was a Dodge so I named it Damian Dodge and the second third and fourth were also Dodges so the name transferred. Now I have a Suburu and her name is Sue B. Rue:D For all the Dodge haters who ask why four: My first three car purchases were forced on me by my then boyfriend/husband. My fourth Dodge (and first post divorce vehicle purchase) was a RAM and I thought it was cute:p ---

My Ford Ranger is named “Twuck” because it’s a baby truck. The Mustang is named 'Stang." Yeah, I’m not real imaginative. ---

Only my first one, in high school. It was a '70 Chevelle, many different colors (primer) and I called it The Beast. My friends called it that too, so I guess it was a good name. ---
