I named my first car (silver Toyota Corolla) _Silvergirl_ (from the Simon & Garfunkel song, “Bridge Over Troubled Water.”) My next car, a red Ford Festiva, did not have a name, but I should have named her the _Golden Hind_, as she was struck from behind five times without ever suffering _any_ damage, not even to the paint on the bumper. My current car doesn’t have a name, but after this thread has inspired me, I’m christening her _Jurassic Parker_. She’s a 1993 Saturn. Name chosen for the following reasons: [ul] [li]She’s 20 years old (prehistoric!)[/li][li]She’s green[/li][li]I commute on public transit (so she spends a lot of time parked)[/li][li]Saturns are “extinct”[/li][li]She transported us on my first date with the girl who is now my wife – to see the movie _Jurassic Park_.[/li][/ul] ---

When I was a brand new English teacher with a brand new Pontiac Lemans, I named him “Wordsworth.” In a few years, that became “Turdsworth.” My hunter green with camel top Jeep Sahara was “Clementine.” (She is lost and gone forever…) My next was a candy red Chrysler Sebring with camel top convertible with the name “The Broad.” we kept her just a couple of years because she was so leaky. Then I got a fire engine red Chrysler Sebring with camel top 13 years ago. I’ve never wanted to trade her in. Beautiful, wonderful car with no name. (Maybe it’s really a horse.) ---
