I don’t see a problem. All goes to the same place, and the shower would wash it right away, so there shouldn’t be an “ick” factor. Unless you get carried away, that is. ---

I used to a lot more before I got married, but my wife gave me grief about it. One day she walked into the bathroom while I was showering, and in that steamy environment must have caught a whiff of a urine smell. “Are you peeing in the shower?!?” “Uhhh…who me?” Thoroughly disgusted her. Must be a guy thing. Anyhoo, I try to avoid it if possible now, but occasionally I just can’t wait, and, well, so long as no one notices, why not? ---

I’m a guy, and I do. I’ve never known a woman to do so, however; and without knowing exactly how the female plumbing works, I just can’t imagine it. (Wouldn’t it run down their leg? :dubious: ) ---

I never pee in the shower if someone else is with me. Alone. Yes. Every now and then. That said, alone or in groups, I’m never shy taking a dump in the hot tub. The look on everyones face is priceless. 😃 ---

Girl. I pee in the shower. Sometimes you just gotta go. As for running down the leg and suchlike, you’re washing yourself all over in the shower. Any skin contact is minimal and washed away within a few seconds. ---

Let me just point out that when I DO pee in the shower I like to spin in circles and go “sheeeeeeeeee, chit-chit-chit-chit” and pretend I’m a lawn sprinkler. ---

Why would you not? The drain pipes from both join together right below the bathroom. If urine was highly unsanitary there might be some reason but it’s mainly warm water that’s instantly washed down the drain. There was an old joke once about the definition of “Schmuck” in the Yiddish dictionary, and the description was “Someone who steps out of the shower to take a pee.” ---

Peeing in the shower is fine. 🙂 Not so fine if you’re not taking a shower at the time. 😛 Worse still if someone else is. 😃 ---

I have done, but I try to avoid needing to, simply because the hot water makes the smell of urine stronger, which is not pleasant. Peeing on your feet in the shower is supposed to help if you have athlete’s foot, but I would imagine that could only be true if you didn’t wash it off properly. ---

We had a old column? thread? that broached the subject of peeing on your own feet in the shower, as a way of preventing Athlete’s Foot. I tried it, & it works, at least for me. I do so regularly. ---

Nope. Never have. And, as has been pointed out in another thread, there _is_ a difference between peeing in the toilet and in the shower – the toilet is designed to flush all that water away and prevent sewer gases from escaping. The shower isn’t designed to remove all the water from the “U” bend trap under the drain, so if you don’t shower long and vigorously after you pee, you could conceivably have urine in that trap.
