My neighborhood is starting to have more issues. It used to be just random people wandering through sometimes checking car doors to see if they were unlocked and stealing minor stuff. Bad enough, mind you, but generally preventable if you locked the doors. Then it graduated (we think) to the crooks using devices to record the key fob code and opening cars with that. This supposition based on people reporting that their cars were broken into even when locked. And tonight, I hear of a neighbor whose house someone tried to break into through a sliding door. The door lock was broken, but luckily they had a bar in the track so the door wasn’t opened. Even so, what if the attempted burglars had decided to break the glass? We’re all at a loss what to do. I’ve got some credit built up at my security company; I guess I’d better spend some time checking out the upgrades I can get installed. My system is original to the house except for the addition of some glass break alarms. We’re all getting a little freaked by this. It’s almost like we’re being targeted. ---

Can you ask local law enforcement to increase their presence for a while? My rant: My husband has had an aviation expo on his calendar for MONTHS. He was planning on leaving today after work, which would have given me the better part of 5 days on my own. Utter heaven. I mean, I love the guy but I love being alone for 24+ hrs more sometimes. Well, last night he said he’s not going tonight (he was going to leave right after work), and that he’s not sure he really wants to go at all. I wanted my alone-time, dammit! ---

Why not go somewhere yourself? There must have been money available to cover housing and meals out for while hubby was at the convention. If he’s not going to spend it, _YOU_ can use it for, oh, how about a little motel near a lake or whatever? Take your own bag of books or do touristy things or lie out near some water, whatever pleases you. And this way you don’t even have to cook and clean up at home. 😃 ---

The last time I knew sheer joy was when my husband was on a work trip out of state for a whole week. My rant: the dog days of the last couple of months have generated some truly stupendous electric bills. Rate have gone up since this time last year. We’re going to have to cut back in some other area, but it’s hard to cut back on A/C when we’re courting triple digit temperatures. ---

In my experience, if they find a benign polyp they’ll want you back in five. ---

Mr.Wrekker spends his retirement planning and going on hunting and fishing trips. It’s pretty much his whole life now. I dreaded it when he was still working, thinking how lonely I would be. My nest is empty too. But, surprisingly I am fine with it. My own schedule has opened up, I have freedom to go and do what I want. No one is needing my attendance. Unless you count the Siamese cats. They are demanding, to say the least.😉 ---

My platelet count dropped from 100 to 59. Now I am on strict bed rest, ordered to try and eat more [I dropped 4 pounds in the last 9 days] and to try and relax and not worry about anything. _sigh_ I can comply with the bed rest, but the zofran works on teh nausea for a limited time per dose, and it doesn’t do anything about the random ninja non-meal related vomiting, and immodum does nothing to stop the runs. ---

Painted my bedroom today! Twice. Dammit. “Washed olive” shouldn’t look minty green. Home Depot supposedly guarantees you’ll like the color. They don’t. Liars. A gallon of “Grassy Savannah” later, it’s workable. I heard a new one today- my mother thought my ceilings couldn’t be painted because I smoke. Bless her heart. I want to paint the ceilings because I smoke. ---

Got the boot off my pitiful foot, yesterday. If feels alright, a bit weak. But I’ll be damned if it ain’t swollen again. I walked the dogs and wore cross-trainers. I usually wear flips or crocs. Took the shoe off and walked in the kitchen and the bottom of my foot felt weird. It’s swollen. Not bad, but still. My body just don’t heal good.
