Long, rough week. I’m wiped out and still got 3 hours left on my day (even leaving early). But thankfully, I don’t have the issues of some of you above. My sympathies. Puts my exhaustion into a little better perspective. Going to go home this afternoon, crank up the stereo, drink some whiskey, smoke a little, and go to bed early. Tomorrow is another long day (not work, things to do). ---

Moseying along, the average person can finish a 10K in 2 hours (20 minutes/mile), which is why that’s the cutoff for most professionally-organized 10Ks. You’d have to be crawling along to have it take longer than that. ---

To clear up the confusion … my husband’s race starts at 8AM. He is training for a marathon and will be finished within an hour. We will be on the road by 11:30AM to reach the grandparents’ house shortly after noon and will be there until the sun goes down. My house was built in 1995 and the pipes are perfectly capable of handling tampons. They’ve done a wonderful job for the last decade we’ve lived here. (This ain’t Europe.) The meltdown could come from either one of us and any given time. Or both - sometimes that happens. Thankfully, he has agreed that there is no good reason for the whole family to be there so early. So long as we cheer him on at the finish line he’s fine. Now the plan is to wake up at 7:15 ish for breakfast, be out the door by 8, and in place by 8:30. ---

I’ve not had this happen. My family and close female friends and I tend to overshare, and it hasn’t come up. Hence, my ?? because I haven’t heard of it in 32 years of having periods, is all. Way back when I walked that much in less than an hour; now that I’m ancient and out of shape it takes me two. The yearly Cursa Corte Inglés is that long and they stop “counting” after 4h; before the two hour mark you start to see people pushing prams and supergeriatrics holding onto their helper’s arm for all they’re worth. ---

Woke up today in terrible pain, guess why. (hint: it’s something we just discussed in this thread. 😉 ) And the !#@%#^@ cat got out today. He used to be an outdoor/indoor cat, but now is strictly indoor. And he has to go to the vet at 9:00 today! Luckily, we did manage to get him back inside fairly quickly (I lured him onto the middle of the back lawn with a food dish and then grabbed him.) ---

I went to the lab this morning to get my fasting blood test done before my physical on Wednesday, and the only phlebotomist working today could not get anything. I drank water first thing this morning, too. She didn’t want to mangle my arm and hand, and I appreciate that, and I did let her know that I have the fine, roll-y veins that go blooey if you don’t get the stick perfect. So guess what I’m doing Monday morning? ☹ ---
