Mostly no. I ought to, it is rude to forget people’s names so quickly. I have toyed with making some sort of database to help me, but that would be more than somewhat compulsive. I keep an eye out for \*\*Ginger of the North, \*\*(She invited me to dinner once) and **Nava** (who chats with me from time to time). Otherwise, no. I cannot remember one poster from another. Sad, really. ---

I haven’t gotten into many arguments on the SDMB, but there are one or two posters that I’ve ended up noticing and remembering because of some disagreement we had on certain issues. There is one particular poster that I’ve resolved never to engage with again, because it never gets anywhere and just ends up making my blood boil, which is never healthy. Other than that - I know the posters in the MMP. That’s about it. ---

I know a number of people on #straightdope found me irritating, and I like to think they don’t carry that sentiment to the Boards although I’m sure they do to some extent. I’ve been an ass on these Boards at times, when my emotions have gotten the better of me or I’ve been falsely confident in my knowledge of the facts. There have been times when I’ve been pretty stable and won a number of fans–anyway, a couple of people have stepped up to say they always look forward to my posts, and some of those were big surprises–and there have been times when I’ve been more immature and hotheaded and made some enemies. But I can’t even remember which people I’ve had run-ins with–more than anything, I remember the person who stood up for me in #straightdope because she knew what I was going through at the time; the people who have sponsored me; and the person on the Boards who generously extended a hand when I cried out for help late last year. You know who you are, and I will never forget you. There are a couple of other posters I’ve had memorable off-board conversations with who I remember clear as day: for example, **Nava** educated me quite a bit on Spanish culture; **silenus** and I almost had breakfast together; **II Gyan II** and I had a lively debate about our respective places in the anti-drug-war movement; that’s just to name a few. I guess I would sum it up by saying the people who have really been on my side are the ones with the biggest impact on my life. The little conflicts don’t stick because I never assigned much permanent importance to them. Either that, or I just have a selectively bad memory. BTW–call me narcissistic, but am I the only one who’s really curious about how many people are talking about me in this thread? I hope the people I’ve had arguments with recently don’t view me in a negative light for it–I try to argue against positions rather than arguing against posters, but it doesn’t always work out that way when things get heated. ---

I don’t argue with people online. As I point out all the time (regardless of whether anyone else gives a damn 😃 ), my offline life is too full of drama for me to want to stir up any drama here or any other place online. There are several posters, who, based on what I know of them here (which is all I know of them), I don’t think too highly of, but I don’t think they need to know that. It wouldn’t and shouldn’t influence their behavior to know what some random chick on a message board thinks of them. I may complain about them somewhere else to let off some steam, but I wouldn’t bring it here. If they bother me that much, I can always just not read what they post. I am curious about that too, **fetus.** If someone’s talking about me, I tend to want to know about it. Especially as even though I make an effort to be truthful without stepping on anyone’s toes, there are still some people who don’t like me, as I discovered when I still frequented that place we aren’t supposed to mention. I’m also curious about whom other people are talking about, even if that wouldn’t be me, because I am nosy. ---

I hope none of those “You know who you are” comments, included me, because I don’t 😉 I can only recall one really acrimonious argument I’ve been in through all of my 2,000+ posts, and I’ve forgotten who it was I got so frustrated with. **Chronos** is another I forgot to mention earlier. I always look for his posts. He only lives a few hours away. I’m going to have to meet him sometime. ---

There are a lot of people on the Dope whom I’ve had satisfactory arguments with, whom I remember fondly because of them. There are also a number of posters whom I actively seek out to read when I notice that they’ve opened a thread, or were the most recent poster. There are a very few whom I have negative opinions on, and with one exception that’s only on a small range of topics. ---

There are perhaps a dozen people I recognise when I see the name, and have a good idea of what ‘tone’ to expect from their writing. However I _keep_ getting **Why Not** and **What Exit** muddled up for no good reason. Sorry.
