I’m pretty sure it was 8:00 pm when I was very young, like kindergarten.
It must have gotten pushed back to 9:00 when I got a bit older, because I remember being able to watch The Cosby Show, but when Cheers came on it was time for bed.
By the time I was in high school, or maybe middle school, it had gotten moved to 10:00, because I could watch Friends and Seinfeld, and pretty much the whole Must See TV lineup. I remember when I was probably a junior or senior in high school I started staying up until 11:00 to watch ER on Thursday nights, but most nights I went to bed at 10:00. I think by that point my parents didn’t really care when I went to bed.
Yeah, my memories of my bedtime is based on which NBC shows I was able to watch. I really do have a distinct memory that when I was in elementary school Cheers meant bedtime.
