Do you scrimp to save?

I am frugal by nature, and I subscribe to the philosophy of “Never pay full price for anything (if you can help it)!” I have been fortunate in life so money is not really a concern, but I still find that I always look for sales or discounts, and more-often-than-not just go without if it means paying full price.

On the other side of that coin, this let’s me feel comfortable splurging when the time comes.

Now, I will say that my spouse does not share my frugal nature. Consequently our major dis-function is that they will spend, and that triggers my need for frugality - so I will go without as a counter measure.

It would be that much more impressive if you had told us in your post what ROPS meant. I’m curious though… did you really think folks here would be familiar with “ROPS”? What’s wrong with writing what you mean instead of manufacturing a little puzzle for us?

I think he scrimps on words too. This way his allotted number of words lasts longer.

I like to scrimp on having to look up shit that should have been explained by the author.

Cool. But this is not a message board for tractor owners. So people can’t be assumed to know tractors.

Example:

I used to work for a CBS O & O but I wouldn’t write that here without explaining what it means because I don’t assume anyone here knows what a “O & O” is.

Naturally, because folks here are pretty smart and because it’s not the most obscure term in the world some people will know what O & O is without explanation. But it’s not the sort of initialism in wide use like CBS, USA, or NFL so of course would explain it.

To me, NOT explaining it smells a little like bragging that I was a broadcasting worker and you weren’t. That I know jargon you don’t know and I’m going to prove that right now.

Don’t alienate your readers just so you can save a few button presses on your phone. Please.

(it’s “owned and operated”. So a CBS O & O would be an affiliate station that’s owned and operated by CBS itself instead of another company like Cox or Tribune Broadcasting.)

Roll over protection system. Highlight>Lookup>.

Now you know too.

Let it go.
