Gosh that’s a mouthful. \>.\> Question is exactly as it says… If you’re a guy, do you sing along to, say, Kylie Minogue, or if you’re a girl, do you mouth the words along with… well… whoever it is. ^^; ---

Absolutely. I’m probably wrong, but in my head I even sound better when singing in male ranges. Of course, I’m always stunned when I hear my voice on a recording or something, so that might have something to do with it. I sing along with every song I know the lyrics to. ---

Yeah, as long as it’s in my range. In fact, I got really surprised once when I was doing this and one of my friends exclaimed “Don’t sing along to the guy part!” ---

Yeah, one time I was singing Tango Maureen with a friend. Only I was singing Joanne’s parts and she was singing Mark’s. We were too busy singing to realize until halfway through when someone else informed us of our impromptu switch at whih point everyone dissolved into laughter and we resumed the song singing with the correct part. ---

I sing along with whatever I know the lyrics to and feel like singing with. I’ve even been known to do songs sung by guys while at Karaoke. ---

Two sets of male-singer tracks stand out in my mental list of who I sing along to: The Eagles, _Hotel California_, and Bob Segar, _Turn the Page_. ---

I’m a tenor, so sure. If it’s out of my range, I’ll try to harmonize. In any case, I’ll sing at the top of my lungs and serenade the dude in the car next to me. ---

I usually find it much easier to sing along with males. I do Siouxsie pretty damn well though. ---

I sing along with pretty much anything, an octave lower. ---

I sing along with anyone, regardless of gender. If necessary I’ll just sing in a different octave. Since I’m a low bass, the only singers I can’t sing along with are tenors, like Tony Bennett or Mel Torme; I have to keep switching octaves too often. ---

Of course. I do some pretty good Tina Turner in the shower. Love singin along with the ladies. Uh…some of the high notes hurt though. ---

I’m a male and we recently got Karaoke Revolution for the Playstation. My wife has noticed that I get higher scores on the duets when I sing the female portion. I guess that tells you something. So, yes, I sing along with the female singers. ---

I love all kinds of music, love to sing, have a (tested) three-octave vocal range and am guaranteed to hit every single note in that range indiscriminately during the singing of any given song. I am the worst singer in the WORLD, couldn’t carry a tune if my life depended on it. So yes 😃 Male, female, cat, castrati… hell, sometimes I sing the guitar parts. ---

You bet I do–mostly because my range is tenor, so the majority of songs that come on the radio that are within my vocal ability are guy parts… I do an uncanny Jim Morrison imitation and can force a baritone if I’m in good form. I karaoke’d the Meatloaf part of “Paradise by the Dashboard Light” with a male friend taking the chick part–it was a hoot, but we were both perfectly in our comfortable ranges. It’s tougher to sing along with female singers, since the majority are contralto or alto and if I don’t want to figure out a harmony I’m forcing my vocal chords in one direction or another. ---
