Carry it every day. It’s old as hell, Duluth Trading Company, nylon with a zipper around the perimeter. I used to spend time at a place where I felt the need to conceal my wallet in a secret cubby hole in the cab of my truck. The zipper gave me confidence that all the shit in my wallet wasn’t going to spill out when inserting it in said cubby. Can’t imagine not carrying one. Yeah, I’m old. 64. Damn! ---

I also carry a backpack, btw, and am 55 years old. I’ve carried a pack since I was in my twenties in Austin and looked like just another student. It was handy to carry my pipe and stash, along with a book or two. For over a decade now the backpack (which I’m finally starting to think of as simply “my bag”) has carried my kindle. Since the age of smart phones it carries various adapters. I also keep lip balm, lens cloths, bandages, a small case with earbuds, a comb, medications, and much more. ---

Why is that sad? It hasn’t been twenty years since I entered a library - but it’s been at least ten since I’ve entered one for any reason other than to renew my library card ( because for some reason, I have to do that in person). Why do I have a library card if I don’t go to the library ? Ebooks. ---

Can’t speak for _everyone_ in my generation but we had toy wallets as children. There was the toy spy wallet I had with a little popup plastic that looks like the Battleship radar panel. My brother had a gag wallet that would catch fire when he opened it, which I remember was expensively priced at $20. ~Max, 25 ---
