Seeing the WTC in a movie or TV show suddenly seems strange.
My son has recently gotten hooked on “Men In Black” and there are two quick scenes with the WTC in the background, and it still seems unbelievable that they’re gone. It was just part of the scenery before 9/11, but now it really sticks out. I always stop and think, “Wow, there they are…”
That Alan Jackson song made me cry every time I heard it, but not as much anymore. There’s a new one, I think it’s by Toby Keith, called “Courtesy of the Red, White & Blue” that makes me tear up a little. It’s not sad like “Where Were You;” it’s actually more angry, but it makes me sad all the same.
I still have my flag out in front of my house, as do most of my neighbors, and have a flag decal on my car.
