\*\*enipla, \*\* I’m so sorry for your pain and grief. My heart goes out to you. I hope it’s at least a bit comforting that your dog was given a quiet, peaceful death in her favorite place, and that you were spared the agony of having to euthanize her. I can’t imagine my pain if my dog were to die. She’s my baby. I tell her I love her every day before I leave for work. She may not understand the English, but she understands I’m saying something nice, and she always wags her tail in response. ---

I haven’t gotten that close to my fish just yet, but my dog gets lots of love when I see him, and I’m not ashamed to tall him “I love you.” Of course, he prefers to just have me give him food instead, but still… ---

Thanks Gr8Kat, Lissa, Guinastasia My wife and I knew it was going to be hard. Alpine, our dog, saved us from a decision we knew we where going to have to make in a few months. The snow comes early here, and it’s deep. I had built two ramps to help her get around our house, yard. Carried her up to our bedroom everynight for the last 2 months. She had two doggie doors so she could get out when we where not home. We got her ashes yesterday, and have picked out a place for her in the yard. I think we will line the …… grave…. with the cards we have received from friends. So much love. She was one of the great ones, like all of them are. Enipla. ---

I’m sorry about your loss, **enipla**. _hugs_ As for the OP, yeah, I tell my pets that I love them. Romeo (the dog) tends to hear it more than the cats, if only because the latter don’t tolerate my snuggling quite as much as my dog does. The embarrassing thing is, when I talk to my parents (I’m at college and, thus, far away from the pets), I tell them to, “Tell Puppy I love him! Keeeeses for the puppy!” ---

koeeoaddi, My Mom brought up some Holly plants from her yard last weekend. Hopefully it will take. Not a lot of things grow up here, even Aspen has problems. We are at 11,200 feet. I think, though, the Holly might make it, seems to be a very hardy plant. Don’t know why this is so damn hard. Takes some time. Keep trying to fill her water bowls. ---

Oh yes. I tell my dogs I love them, and that I have “the bestest dogs in the whole wide world.” I love to scratch them under their ears and hold their heads and kiss them right between the eyes. Then they kiss me back with wet sloppy doggy kisses, and Bouncer also gives me a hug (2 paws on my shoulders.) If I ever cry about anything, Sasha has to come wash my face. She can hear me sniffle 2 rooms away. Even if I’m just crying over a sentimental movie or something. I love my dogs… ---

Hey Quasi, Susie looks just like our Shadow. Grey, long hair. We got him from the shelter. His name was Bartholomew(sp) or mew, mew. That didn’t work at all. His name is now Shadow. He is a Shadow, with that coloring. Sweet guy he is. Our other cat is Stormy (brought her home on a stormy night). Another shelter rescue. Little tiny cat she is, but full of her self. I’m convinced that she thinks, that when she grows up, shes gonna kick my ass. Thanks for all the kind thoughts and words. We know, I knew, it was going to be hard. It just dosn’t end when it ends. It will take some time, and I know that everyone that knew Alpine have a little bit of her with them. eniplA ---

**koeeoaddi** , I live in Massachusetts, in a coastal town north of Boston. I’ve got a 21 year old Quarter Horse (Webshots: [http://community.webshots.com/album/735286](http://community.webshots.com/album/735286) ), a 13 year old TB, and half interest in a two year old Percheron/TB – all geldings. Too bad I have to board the QH and TB instead of having my own place! The youngster lives at my friend’s farm in New Hampshire. **enipla** , I’m so very sorry for your loss. No matter how prepared you think you are, it’s ALWAYS worse than you’d expected.
