> That makes sense in America, where a “season” of a show typically does last for about a season, i.e., about a quarter of a year.

A quarter of a year would be thirteen weeks (ie the length of a modern series of _Doctor Who_). Don’t US shows typically run longer – nearer to half a year?

> It sounds like an interesting story, but the current doctor is far too young to play Merlin.

Actually, he’s a bit older than BBC’s current [Merlin](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merlin_(Merlin_character)).

Actually, one little thing I’d secretly like to see is a cameo by Jeff Murdoch.

Of course, it would never, ever happen, or work. I’d still like to see it though.

> Oops. That seems kind of stupid of them. I’m watching them through alternate channels as is, so I’ve kind of lost track of BBCA schedules. Seems like the more of a gap there is between U.K. and U.S. showings, the more likely people are to find other ways of watching.

Welcome to every TV show on the planet!

Finally this year they realised that by showing Lost and 24 the same week elsewhere as in the US instead of 6 months later meant that viewing figures magically increased. In fact the finale of Lost was shown in various countries at the exact same time as the US broadcast.

With luck, eventually all TV studios will catch on to this. Most other shows are still 6 months to a year behind.
