This term is too long, and does not have popular use in the main stream media. However, I am still eager to learn another term to ‘anchor babies’ or ‘illegals.’
But when you come down to it, isn’t that what they are invaders trying to get a foothold in the United States to take a free ride on our welfare system? Perhaps the best word to use is what they are, ‘freeloaders.’
Freeloaders = $113 Billion a year
Freeloaders = $113 Billion a year
Freeloaders = $113 Billion a year
Freeloaders = $113 Billion a year
Freeloaders = $113 Billion a year
Freeloaders = $113 Billion a year
Freeloaders = $113 Billion a year
Freeloaders = $113 Billion a year
Freeloaders = $113 Billion a year
To answer the OP, yes, I do think it’s reasonable to pay $113 Billion a year for Illegals/Anchor Babies. Mostly b/c if you pay the monthly, per pound rate, it’s like 5 times the yearly cost. We have to save money on our grocery bill somewhere.
The term does not specifically describe the group. These are individuals who obtained U. S. citizenship by entering the United States illegally - undocumented. Those born of parents who were citizens of the United States themselves would not be included in this group. Please keep trying. I am listening.
Let’s see, “American-born children of illegal immigrants”. Fourteen syllables.
“Freeloaders = $113 Billion a year.” Fifteen syllables, if you express it as “Freeloaders equals one hundred and thirteen billion a year.” I’ll even let you save two syllables by not making it “Freeloaders equals one hundred and thirteen billion dollars a year”, though it could more accurately be expressed so.
Cyclone, if you want a forum where people will accept whatever you say because you personally vouch for it, you have come to the wrong place. Posters here also won’t be convinced by yelling, colorful text, or simple obstinacy. If that’s all you have to offer, I will close this thread.
This could be understood as a personal insult. Don’t do it again.
I am not certain why we are taking such great pains to be polite to a group of people who sneak into the United States illegally, and many of them are having children to try and cheat the system of legal immigration. These arguments are getting repetative, and trite.
In 2010 the Obama administration deported about 400,000 illegals. 195,000 were convicted felons. The president is correct about making it a priority to get the criminals out first.
In order to obtain legal citizenship one must take a physical to be sure they are disease free. Illegal immigrants take no health exam and are often working with our food supply. American citizens should not have to risk their health so a law breaker can cut in line in front of legal immigrants to be in this country.
Shouting does not make you any more correct or less wrong.
So-called anchor babies are NOT “illegals”. They’re natural-born citizens of the United States, as per the 14th Amendment.
So deduct whatever portion of that claimed 113 billion spent on the citizens who happen to have at least one parent who crossed the border without permission and we can discuss whether or not that’s a reasonable sum to spend on people here illegally. Their babies that were born here ARE citizens, whether other people like it or not, and should be cared for as much as any other US citizen.
Name calling I can deal with to a degree, but when you start calling anchor babies “ASSHOLES,” I think you have overstepped the line of useful debate. Please apologize for your remark. Thank you.
I’m sorry - were you under the delusion that this was somehow an Americans-only forum? I wish to inform you that that is NOT the case. We have people from all over the world posting here.
That is probably some of the issue with you calling yourself liberal and others saying you’re not - what passes for a “far left or liberal” stance in the US is actually far right or conservative in many other places.
Anyhow - as it happens, I’m a native-born US citizen. Just for the record. Most recent immigrant ancestor came over in 1900. So yeah, “real American citizen.”
