Today was very cold inside and very nice outside; but as wide as I opened the windows the warm air would not come in. I was freezing so I took the ipad and was reading SDMB in the car with the doors and windows closed to warm me up. My house is approx 50’ from the road with a wide expanse of flat lawn, no shrubs. The house number is very large and clearly visible. A car slowed way down, rolled passed my driveway and passed the pathway up to the front & back doors. They continued very slowly looking intently at my house and in the side yard. Then they reversed; the passenger had the side door ajar and was starting to get out while the car was still slowly reversing. I opened my car door to get out; they looked back saw me and took off fast. It was a small station wagon with a ladder on the roof. I guess they were out looking to do Columbus Day B&E. I suppose I should have stayed in the car until they got out and started to break in and captured it on video while calling the police. ---
