My Dad grew up in Alaska, he said bear was GREAT in berry season but horrible in Salmon season.
Lion, etc meat is apparently very tough and stringy.
Take that list with a grain of salt.
I have had horse- in hamburger. Bear & boar (both must be cooked thoroughly), emu, alligator (tastes like chicken), and some others. None of them were that tasty.
When i visited South Africa i got to try the meat of several antelope. They were all delicious. Kudu was the toughest meat I’ve ever eaten, and the tastiest.
Antelope meat is easily available in grocery stores here (along with dinosaur steaks). It’s a bit of a toss-up as to which antelope is currently available.
