My wife and I talk about “what we did today” pretty much every night, so sure, I’ll tell her how the review went. I’d be a little weirded out if she asked for documentation to back up what I was telling her, but I’d show her a copy if she wanted it for some reason. Don’t know why she would, though. “Hi sweetie, I got a good review today.” “Oh, yeah? Cite?!”

My reviews are pretty worthless anyway. I spend about 80% of my day screwing off, and I still get “exceeds expectations.” I’m not particularly proud of them.

By the way, this made me laugh:

[QUOTE=Trunk]
Jesus, if you don’t talk about how your WORK REVIEW went with your spouse, what the hell do you talk about?

“Honey, how did work go today?”

“None of your business.”

“I love you.”

“Love you, too.”

Yeah, we share. No reason not to.

Yup. My performance reviews at my old job were complete horror shows, and I still have some baggage from that even though my new job and boss are great. (My old boss would stockpile all his grievances against me and lay them out in the review, having never mentioned any of them before. Among other things.) My husband builds me up beforehand and celebrates with me when it’s over.

**1. Do you share the contents of your performance review from work with your spouse? If yes do you do so verbally or do you actually take home a copy to show them?**

Yes, mostly verbally, unless it was a particularly good review, in which case I might bring a copy home for him to admire. 🙂

I can’t help but think there’s a story behind these questions…

If the topic came up I would. It’s not like I have anything to hide. But I don’t think either of us would find it a particularly interesting conversation.

When married, I never got a written review, as I was part time then.
But sure, I’d have shared it. I never had secrets.

Exactly. I don’t take them very seriously so I might offhandedly mention that I had it, but it’s not a high-pressure or particularly meaningful thing that I have to psych myself up for.

I bring home a copy and let my husband look at it and laugh. It used to be that we’d enjoy this year’s “walks on water” type comments. Since my boss became super invested in the twunt, all evaluations are now based on how well we get along with her. Now we laugh at how my boss says I am the hardest working person in the section, but still needs to note that I have a little problem with the twunt and her minion.
