we can’t watch it in the UK) has Spanish subtitles. It’s be interesting
to see what word they use and its English translation.
Finally got in via the ITV player (should have thought of that first but I hate not being able to skip the commercials). Definitely “non” to my ears. I’m not familiar with the kind of slang that kind of character might be using,b but non-starter seems the most obvous from the context.
It occurred to me that she might have meant “abnormal” in the sense of “gay,” but Al wouldn’t have answered “Well, I used to be, but I’m not now.” Especially since we’d never seen any evidence that he was.
This is why I asked about what she could have meant.
