Oh no! I’ve seen him perform numerous times, both with Merle and alone. He was phenomenal!

[This song](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0d6nUXRKoU) is among my top 5 all time favorites.

I had the great fortune to see him live, at a very small venue in Cambridge when I was in college. Had been a fan for a long time, and really enjoyed the show.

RIP. You will be missed.

Got some of his vinyls from a long time ago. Been a fan for years, and will bring out one or two to play tonight.

I have no doubt he was brought home for a special festival. Goodbye, Doc.

I had the opportunity to meet him at a small festival in East Tennessee a few years back. He was a gentleman to the nth degree. And I agree, he could flat out pick the guitar!
