Everything that someone can find pleasurable is potentially addictive. Drugs, porn, sex, hot sauce, gambling, and videogames can all be used and “enjoyed” in ways that are unhealthy and which interfere with one’s everyday life, to the point of an addiction. Those with addictive personalities run a risk of any pleasurable activity taking over their life. Instead of labeling one thing after the other as addictive and banning it, we should encourage people to practice responsible behavior in general, such as setting limits, knowing themselves and the effect that various actions have on their mind and body, and keeping work and pleasure seperate. ---

Actually, I’ve got some friends who watch porno movies MST3K-style! I’ve only sat through one once (the first time I tried, it was ruined by a 300 lb guy calling 150 lb actresses “too fat” :wally ), but with the right company, it can be hilarious! Me, I was amazed to see how many of the old cliches were true. CJ ---

Me, I was amazed to see how many of the old cliches were true. > > CJ Back when I was in university, lots of my friends were waiters/waitresses/bar workers and the only place that was open at 0300 in the morning was an adult movie theater, and 3 diners…nobody wanted to go eat after slagging around food and drinks all evening so we used to make an every thursday night thing of going to the porn movies…we would all sit in a large block of 3 rows, middle of the theater and make comments MST3K style…amazing how fast we could clear the pervs out 😃 This was 82-83, I seem to remember that the prevalent movies were the taboo series, and some of the newer shot to video ones… ---

Howard led an extensive campaign earlier this year to get listeners to lodge complaints with the FCC regarding an Oprah show that Howard _was not allowed to air_ on his show due to its content being too racy. The Oprah show was about out-of-control teens, with descriptions of events like rainbow parties. (My childhood sucked compared to what’s going on nowadays, which apparently involves much sucking.) Many listeners filed complaints, and the FCC did indeed look into Oprah’s show. The results of that investigation are unknown at this time. ---

Apparently, it’s possible to become [sexually broken](http://www.freedomeveryday.org/faq/sexuallybroken.html), and that one of the symptoms of this is [masturbation](http://www.freedomeveryday.org/faq/basicsexualaddiction.html), which, if I’m reading this site correctly, is the gateway drug to pornography. :eek: Thankfully, there’s a simple [test you can take](http://www.freedomeveryday.org/faq/addictiontest.html) if you’re a male to determine if you’re a sex addict. They don’t have a test for women, it seems, but I _do_ note that there’s a [sex addicts support group for women](http://www.freedomeveryday.org/groups/tennessee.html) in Nashville.
